What is Techrot Overload in Warframe?

In Warframe: 1999, completing a yearly cycle triggers a chronological reset. The Drifter and allies from the Hex faction successfully prevent Hollvania’s destruction, halting a catastrophic event and launching a new iteration. Upon interacting with the calendar interface in-game, players encounter Techrot Overload—a feature that remains unclear to many.

Understanding Techrot Overload

Techrot Overload interface

This mechanic resets relationship progress with key characters, divided into two factions: the Hex (Arthur, Eleanor, Lettie, Aoi, Amir, Quicy) and the Round Table (Flare, Kaya, Minerva, Velimir). Players may reset one group independently of the other. All dialogue history, affinity stats, and romantic connections will revert, though faction ranks and unlocked gear remain unaffected. This provides opportunities to correct conversational missteps or avoid awkward confrontations by resetting bonds entirely.

Resetting occurs annually after December 31st events conclude, including optional romantic interactions. The feature offers a clean slate without permanent consequences, ideal for experimenting with different narrative paths or character dynamics.
