Specs for PlayStation 6 and Xbox Magnus Rumored Finalized; Xbox May Have Performance Lead

Rumors suggest the PlayStation 6 and Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox, codenamed Magnus, have finalized hardware specifications, with the latter reportedly outperforming Sony’s console across the board, per a credible industry insider.

Details emerged on NeoGAF forums, where KeplerL2—a reliable AMD leaker—validated specs shared by Moore’s Law is Dead. The leaker emphasized that Xbox Magnus holds advantages in CPU core count, clock speeds, GPU compute units, and memory bandwidth, positioning it ahead of the PS6 in raw performance for all titles, a shift from current parity between Xbox Series X and PS5.

Despite trailing in traditional metrics, Sony’s console may leverage advanced AI capabilities, boasting ~1200 TOPs—quadruple the PS5 Pro’s 300 TOPs. This could enable features like real-time upscaling or enhanced physics. Meanwhile, RAM allocations are speculated at 30GB for PS6, 24GB for Sony’s rumored handheld, and 36GB for Xbox Magnus, reflecting increased demands for ray tracing and AI enhancements.

KeplerL2 also noted Sony might release multiple console variants, while Microsoft’s plans for a budget Xbox Magnus model remain unconfirmed. Though the insider has accurately leaked hardware details before, caution is advised, as both systems are likely years from launch.
