Netflix has confirmed that The Witcher will debut its penultimate season on October 30, 2025, marking Liam Hemsworth’s debut as Geralt following Henry Cavill’s departure. A teaser video showcasing Hemsworth in action was also released alongside the date reveal.
Though Cavill’s portrayal anchored the series’ initial success, propelling the recent surge of game-to-screen adaptations, Hemsworth now shoulders the responsibility of concluding the saga. The final two seasons were filmed back-to-back, streamlining post-production into a single editing phase.
“Stepping into Geralt’s world as a longtime fan is incredibly thrilling,” Hemsworth remarked in a Netflix Tudum statement.
Netflix continues expanding its game-inspired slate beyond The Witcher, with an Assassin’s Creed series in development and a renewed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners animation arriving soon.
Cavill, meanwhile, remains immersed in game-based projects, currently spearheading a Warhammer 40,000 adaptation for Amazon.
