Sloclap’s high-energy football title Rematch, featuring 3v3 to 5v5 arena matches, has rolled out its most impactful update to date. Patch 3.1.200-300 now enables cross-platform multiplayer across all systems, resolving a highly anticipated feature missing at launch.
The substantial update, originally tested through Steam’s beta program starting August 29, became fully operational on September 5. Alongside crossplay, adjustments include a 10% reduction in targeting speed during Extra Effort maneuvers and diminished aerial shot bonuses – balancing tweaks addressing current competitive strategies.
Keyboard/mouse users gain directional tap controls, while numerous technical improvements address performance issues. The crossplay activation arrives after initial launch controversies, where players expressed frustration over its delayed implementation despite the game’s immediate success.
Despite these early hurdles, Rematch achieved remarkable adoption, attracting over 1 million users within 24 hours and surpassing 5 million players in its debut month. Xbox Game Pass inclusion significantly contributed to these figures, though the title’s accessible mechanics and chaotic multiplayer clearly resonated broadly.
In Wccftech’s analysis, Rematch earned praise as “an exceptionally polished sports title that channels the spontaneous energy of pickup games with friends, blending technical precision with unbridled chaos.” With crossplay barriers removed, the developers now face fresh challenges balancing mechanics for an expanded, unified player base across PC and consoles.
