Playtonic’s revisited edition of Yooka-Laylee, fittingly titled Yooka-Replaylee, is set to launch October 9, 2025, for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Existing Yooka-Laylee owners can upgrade to this refreshed version at a 30% discount off the $29.99/£24.99/28,99€ price. A $49.99 physical edition will include “retail-exclusive collectibles,” as noted in Playtonic’s announcement.

“Yooka-Replaylee is crafted to dazzle across all systems, especially Switch 2 at launch—it’s a passion project for our team,” stated Playtonic’s studio head, Gavin Price. “This version amplifies everything: visuals, gameplay, and charm. Players are in for a treat.”

Publisher PM Studios’ CMO, Ami Blaire, shared, “Few games evolve this dramatically. This isn’t just an update—it’s a revitalization that resonates deeply with the spirit of classic platformers.”

Beyond visual upgrades, Yooka-Replaylee introduces an overhauled narrative, fresh story content, and replaces original minigames with new top-down challenges. Collectibles are expanded, controls are streamlined, the soundtrack is reworked, and an updated map enhances exploration.

Rather than a simple remake, this release feels like a full reimagining, rebuilding the core experience. Fans won’t wait long to compare it to the 2017 original—launch day arrives this fall.
