Dune: Awakening’s The Lost Harvest DLC and New Chapter Launch Next Month, Free Trial Now

Funcom has revealed that its inaugural no-cost narrative expansion for Dune: Awakening, labeled Chapter 2, arrives September 10, 2025. Accompanying this update, a premium expansion titled The Lost Harvest will debut, offering distinct story content and purchasable separately. Newcomers can experience the game’s opening acts through a limited-time trial accessible at no cost until August 24, 2025.

The Chapter 2 no-cost expansion introduces fresh narrative elements alongside player-demanded features, including post-creation character customization options, additional aesthetic choices like hairstyles and tattoos, expanded mission types, and innovative armor configurations. Existing owners automatically receive this content through standard updates.

Priced at $12.99, The Lost Harvest DLC delivers exclusive perks for purchasers, including the Treadwheel all-terrain vehicle, three Imperial Research Outposts to conquer, and themed cosmetic items ranging from weapon finishes to architecture blueprints. Season Pass subscribers gain immediate access to this expansion without additional charges.

The ongoing trial version grants 10 hours of gameplay within Hagga Basin’s restricted zones, excluding late-game areas like Harko Village and Arrakeen. Progress from the trial—including character levels, skill advancements, and inventory—transfers seamlessly to the full game upon purchase, though players must reconstruct bases and vehicles. Any Solaris currency exceeding 10,000 units will reset post-trial.

This marks Dune: Awakening’s substantial first update since launch, addressing content depletion concerns from dedicated players. Alongside new material, the September 10 patch will implement gameplay adjustments and system refinements, potentially reshaping Arrakis’ multiplayer meta for veteran survivors.
