Among PlayStation Studios’ veteran teams, Sucker Punch Productions has crafted iconic franchises across generations. During the PS3 era, their standout title was Infamous, a series that continued into the PS4’s lifespan before fading after its final entry and a compact expansion released early in that console’s cycle.
Following Infamous, the studio shifted focus to Ghost of Tsushima—a move widely celebrated given its critical acclaim and commercial triumph. Yet fans of the superpower-driven action series still speculate whether Sucker Punch might revisit their earlier IP.
In a recent GameInformer interview discussing the upcoming Ghost of Yotei, creative leads Nate Fox and Jason Connell addressed this possibility. When questioned about returning to Infamous, Fox stated: “I’d be thrilled to revisit that universe. A remastered trilogy would be fantastic, but currently, our entire team is dedicated to perfecting Ghost of Yotei.”
Historically, Sucker Punch has concentrated on single franchises per hardware generation. Their PS2 catalog centered on Sly Cooper, followed by three entries spanning PS3 and PS4 eras. The studio later passed Sly Cooper to other developers to pursue Infamous, delivering two PS3 titles, a PS4 sequel, and a story-driven add-on.
With Ghost of Tsushima cementing its legacy on PS4, anticipation grows around whether Sucker Punch will break tradition by revisiting past titles. While many players—myself included—would welcome remastered editions or a new Infamous chapter, the studio’s track record suggests forward momentum over nostalgia.
Still, creative possibilities remain open. Perhaps one day, Fox’s enthusiasm and fan demand will align to reignite Conduit-powered adventures on modern platforms.
