Bellatores MMORPG Launches Korean CBT on Steam with UE5 and Action Combat

Nyou, a Seoul-based studio, has announced details for the upcoming Closed Beta Test of its PC MMORPG Bellatores. Registrations for Steam-based access will begin July 8, with testing scheduled from July 30 through August 3. Participants can align with two of five aristocratic factions, exploring combat mechanics, advancement systems, and skill customization during the trial period.

Jung Hwan Kim, CEO of Nyou, emphasized:

This CBT will help us gauge how effectively the game embodies our creative vision through player collaboration. User insights will directly influence future refinements.

Notably, the project has undergone significant technical revisions since its initial reveal. Originally developed in Unreal Engine 4 with classic tab-target combat, the title now utilizes Unreal Engine 5 and features dynamic action combat emphasizing weapon versatility and stamina mechanics.

Central to Bellatores’ design is its Skill Mastery advancement framework. During a recent developer stream, Producer Lee Gi Baek elaborated:

Players develop expertise through weapon usage and activity engagement rather than fixed classes. Achieving mastery milestones unlocks specialized techniques and combat approaches, enabling diverse playstyles based on individual preferences.

Artisan Specialization equally impacts gameplay outcomes. Crafting proficiency affects item rarity, material efficiency, and equipment stats, with all gear originating from player creation or trade. This positions crafting as a vital social and economic pillar, where artisans gain recognition through their unique creations.

Specialization caps ensure players must collaborate to access all gameplay elements. This restriction fosters interdependence within the community, reviving classic MMORPG social dynamics while allowing individualized character development across combat, economics, and political systems.
