WB Games Restructures into Divisions for Four Major Franchises: Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mortal Kombat, and DC Universe

As detailed by Variety, Warner Bros. Games has reorganized its operations into four core verticals: Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, Mortal Kombat, and the DC Universe. Leadership shifts include elevating three senior figures to oversee these pillars.

Yves Lachance, previously head of WB Games Montreal, now serves as SVP of Development for Harry Potter and Game of Thrones titles. NetherRealm’s Shaun Himmerick assumes the role of SVP of Development for Mortal Kombat and DC projects. Steven Flenory, formerly of WB Games New York, transitions to SVP of Central Technology and Services, managing infrastructure, QA, and user analytics.

Studios under WB Games will now align with Lachance or Himmerick based on their active projects. For example, Avalanche Software, developing a new Hogwarts Legacy installment, would report to Lachance, while Rocksteady’s DC-focused team would answer to Himmerick. Both executives, along with Flenory, will report directly to streaming and gaming CEO JB Perrette.

Perrette emphasized the restructuring aims to deepen engagement with major IPs: “Our studios house legendary franchises, and this realignment ensures strategic roadmaps to captivate global audiences.” He added, “Yves, Shaun, and Steven bring proven leadership to deliver exceptional experiences across these universes.”

Notably, the reorganization avoided staff reductions, a rare positive amid widespread industry cuts. This follows recent financial challenges for WB Games, including underperforming titles like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and the shutdown of studios such as Monolith Productions and Player First Games.

The shift reinforces Warner Bros.’ earlier commitment to concentrate resources on its flagship brands, as outlined in a 2025 strategy update. The company aims to stabilize its gaming division through tighter IP-focused management and streamlined operations.
