Konami Introduces Fox Hunt Multiplayer Mode in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

During the latest Konami: Press Start event, showcased earlier today here, the publisher re-released the Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater trailer initially revealed at Summer Game Fest 2025.

This re-airing wasn’t merely a promotional rerun. Konami unveiled an additional multiplayer component for the remake, named Fox Hunt, emphasizing its distinction from prior online entries in the series.

Developers clarified that Fox Hunt diverges significantly from Metal Gear Online. Described as an innovative multiplayer experience set within the Delta universe, the studio stressed its gameplay mechanics are “wholly unique” compared to the main campaign.

Fox Hunt director Yu Sahara acknowledged ongoing fan requests for the return of MGO but explained the team designed this mode to reflect evolving multiplayer trends. While specifics remain sparse, Sahara hinted at redefining stealth-based hide-and-seek gameplay with “unprecedented depth.”

An accompanying press release highlighted Fox Hunt’s focus on environmental adaptation, stating it “amplifies the series’ signature stealth dynamics, requiring tactical use of surroundings to avoid detection.”

Key details—including match sizes, available modes, and cross-platform compatibility—remain under wraps. Konami confirmed, however, that these features will be revealed closer to the title’s August 28, 2025 launch.

Beyond Metal Gear, the presentation disclosed Bloober Team’s next project: a remake of the original Silent Hill, following their critically praised work on Silent Hill 2.
