Microsoft’s recent Xbox showcase unveiled a new Gears of War: Reloaded trailer, showcasing gameplay before its August 2025 launch. Excitingly, a beta for the game is imminent, available at no extra cost to Xbox Game Pass subscribers.
Following an Xbox Wire post, details have emerged on beta access. Subscribers, existing Ultimate Edition owners, and pre-order customers gain entry starting Friday, June 13th.
The beta runs over two weekends, with precise schedules as follows:
- Weekend 1 – June 13 (12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST) until June 15 (12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST)
- Weekend 2 – June 20 (12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST) until June 22 (12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm BST)
Details on beta content have also been shared, with classic modes returning to delight long-time fans:
“Multiplayer Beta Weekend 1 runs June 13-15 and features a social multiplayer experience in the classic Team Deathmatch mode across three maps including the fan-favorite Gridlock, as well as Raven Down and Gold Rush.
Multiplayer Beta Weekend 2 runs June 20-22 and adds the competitive King of the Hill mode on the map Canals being added to the mix, along with the maps Courtyard and War Machine for use in Team Deathmatch. ”
Additionally, a podcast exploring the game’s development has been released. Post-beta, the full game launches on Xbox Game Pass August 26, 2025.
