IO Interactive is currently crafting a cooperative multiplayer addition for Hitman: World of Assassination, as revealed in a recent announcement. While details remain scarce, the mode will reintroduce Stone and Knight, characters familiar to players of Hitman Sniper.
Upon launch, teams of two will tackle specially-designed missions that demand fresh strategic approaches. The studio emphasized that traditional solo tactics won’t suffice when coordinating with a partner—adaptation will be key to success.
IO described the project as still in its early stages, promising further updates in the near future. Concurrently, they disclosed that World of Assassination has surpassed 25 million sales, with total player counts reaching 80 million including free-tier users.
“Agent 47 continues to resonate with audiences worldwide, solidifying the franchise’s legacy as its 25th anniversary approaches,” stated Hakan Abrak, IO’s studio head. “We express deep gratitude to our dedicated fans and remain committed to expanding this world of tactical stealth and inventive eliminations.”
