Ubisoft Skips Forward, Features Games in Other Showcases

This year, Ubisoft has opted out of its customary summer presentation event. Their upcoming titles will instead debut at external expos such as IGN Live and the PC Gaming Show. Participation in August’s Gamescom is also confirmed.

A company spokesperson told Game File: “We are always eager to connect with our players and showcase our games… We are continuing to explore opportunities to share updates, and we look forward to providing more information at a later date.”

Analysts speculate the publisher’s limited upcoming release slate reduces the need for a standalone event. Currently announced projects include the already-detailed Assassin’s Creed Shadows and revivals of classic franchises including Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.

Organizational restructuring continues as Ubisoft partners with Tencent on a new venture focused on major IP development. This collaboration will oversee properties like Far Cry, Rainbow Six, and the Assassin’s Creed series.
